The tour desk at the property was incredibly helpful, providing us with great recommendations and organizing fun activities for the kids. They made exploring the beautiful city of Chiang Rai a breeze!
My children wanted a larger play area for outdoor activities.

A Hidden Gem
We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at Baan Bua Homestay. The cleanliness of the place exceeded our expectations, and the central location allowed us to explore the city with ease. Despite the thin walls, the comfortable beds ensured a good night's sleep. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we even enjoyed a personalized tour to the Golden Triangle. The Wi-Fi could have been better, but it didn't hinder our overall experience. We truly felt like we discovered a hidden gem. we highly recommend this homestay for a wonderful stay.

I booked and paid for a 3 night stay at 700 Baht per night. Upon arrival I found that the room had a musty smell. Oh well. Then the bed was extremely hard, might as well sleep on the floor. The room was very very small. Next morning I had decided that I would not complete my stay there, so I checked out. No offer of any kind of refund for the 2 additional nights that had already been paid. Never again.

The place was coloured and welcoming!
The bathroom wasn't in the room, and it wasn't specified when we booked the room. It was private, but you had to walk across the building to reach it.

Amazing traditional Thai house, perfect location, quiet street, close to bars and night bazaar. Front balcony and sitting area ideal for work and relaxation. Great staff, funny and helpful owner, always available. Clean room with comfortable bathroom. Relaxing garden. Close to city center and bus terminal. No noise despite being in the center. Sink and mirror in bedroom and bathroom for convenience. Nice spot for drinks outside.
No complaints.

I loved the indoor/outdoor private bathroom. It was a quiet place which was great for me. And it was within walking distance of bus station, night market, and other sights of Chiang Rai.

It is a home stay, which makes it a much more personal experience with the owner. I loved the atmosphere and bright colors; I would love to have that kind of character in my own home. We enjoyed our room with its outdoor bathroom and bright colors. The triple room is great with a fridge and hairdryer and attached bathroom; some of the rooms did not have bathrooms ensuite. There is a/c and hot water, plus a tv in both of our rooms. We had our laundry done here daily.
We stayed on the ground floor and our kids stayed upstairs (not directly above) in a triple room. The main problem is the noise level as people walk or drop things upstairs and the sound carries, especially at night. The kids said they also heard other guests early in the morning.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. they went above and beyond by arranging our transportation to our next destination.
The room we stayed in was disappointing. the walls seemed poorly constructed and the overall quality of the room was subpar.

The friendliness of the people.
The size of our room, there was hardly no place to turn round in it. No place to put the luggage. On the other hand, I must admit that I should have checked the description more thoroughly.

Excellent stay overall. From the reasonable airport pick up and drop off service to the overall experience was outstanding. The staff was extremely friendly and our double room was clean and comfortable. We walked to the nearby night market every night and used the bus terminal for our 30 minute ride to the White Temple. Would highly recommend Baan Bua Homestay and looking forward to staying here again next time in Chiang Rai.
Nothing to complain
